What is Scale in your water?
Scale is the buildup that is indicative of hard water that accumulates on water pipes, faucets, and sinks. Scale forms when minerals in the water, such as calcium and magnesium, separate from the water molecules and begin to build up on these surfaces. In small amounts, it’s harmless, but too much scale buildup can lead to decreased efficiency in water-operated machines and appliances. In extreme cases, it can even cause blockage of pipes.
