SCALA1 3-45 can connect via Bluetooth.
The MQ Successor (SCALA1) is a self-priming, multistage pump, that incorporates all the components of a pressure booster into a compact composite enclosure.
As it is self-priming, the MQ Successor and pump water from a level below the pump. Provided it is filled with water, the pump can lift water from a depth of 26 feet in less than 5 minutes. This facilitates easy installation and start-up of the pump and provides more reliable water supply in installations where there is a risk of dry running and leakages in suction hose or pipes. In city water or well water applications, use a PRLV-30, Pressure Reducing Limit Valve on the suction side of the pump to 30 PSI to prevent inbound water from exceeding the 43 PSI max inlet pressure.
MQ Successor can communicate with Grundfos GO app via built in Bluetooth, which enables detailed pump monitoring and high customization options, making this pump a good fit for every application.
MQ Successor incorporates advanced protection features such as:
|
The pump has a built-in motor protection that will stop the pump if exposed to excessive temperature due to high ambient temperature, in case of seizure or overload, thus preventing a motor burnout.
With Grundfos GO, you can easily setup MQ Successor as a Twin booster system, operating as duty/stand by as well as duty/assist. It is also possible to add external input control and schedule a pump operation via calendar function.
MQ Successor requires no maintenance, but it is recommended to keep the pump clean. Check the non-return valves, and keep the ventilation holes free of dust.
- Plumbing: Pressure Boosting
- Residential groundwater intake
- Residential water pressure boosting
- Residential rainwater harvesting
The MQ Successor is a fully integrated, all-in-one, self-priming, compact waterworks designed for pressure boosting in domestic and light-commercial applications, such as garden irrigation or pressure boosting to one and two family houses and apartments.
*NOTE: We recommend using a small (2-4 gallon) expansion tank (sometimes referred to as a "pressure tank") with any single speed, on demand booster pump even though it isn't required. It can save the pump from cycling (which is a bad thing for pumps) if you have a small leak or a toilet running somewhere that you aren't aware of. Expansion Tank pressure should be set at 30 PSI for SCALA1 3-45 (MQ Successor).

1" x 24" Stainless Steel Flex Hose makes connections to existing plumbing easier.
PRO Priming TIP: With the pump turned on, open the drain port on the bottom, front side by hand enough until it begins to leak water and push the air out of it. It’s likely that the pump has not been properly primed yet and needs to get all the air out of it.
Open and close a ball valve (or the nearest valve if you don’t have a ball valve installed on the pump outlet) on the discharge side of the pump gradually so that it works the air out of the line. You’ll want to have the pump push against the closed valve and then an open valve and a closed valve and an open valve again gradually opening and closing the valve until the pump begins working properly at which point you can leave the valve open.
You’ll also want to screw the drain port back on all the way hand tight. Do not overtighten. Once the pump is fully primed, it should begin working as intended when you open and close valves for use.
